Spatial Data Consulting helps organizations design and implement community surveys using validated sampling methods. I can also provide support and guidance around Community Assessment for Public Health Emergency Response (CASPER), serving as a CASPER subject-matter expert with over 13 years of experience.
Assistance can be in the form of brief consultation, survey design, two-stage and simple random sampling, field map creation, questionnaire guidance and creation, survey weighting, analysis, and reporting. I can provide any combination of the above services.
I believe in speaking directly with the populations that we aim to serve. I value high quality primary data and achieve this through careful survey design and direct interaction with populations of interest.
Operations Dashboard for Community Health Survey
Training surveyors to conduct face-to-face interviews.
Intentional, specialized, and focused sampling design
Random sampling – not convenience
Purposeful and lean questionnaire design
Detailed field maps
Digital data entry on tablets (Qualtrics or ESRI Field Maps)
An overview map serves as the key to the cluster sample, showing which neighborhoods were randomly selected and assigning the selected clusters to teams. Detailed field maps for each cluster along with tablets loaded with specific addresses ensure teams know where they are going leading to more efficient field data collection and faster analysis.
Collecting interview responses digitally reduces data entry time and leads to less missing data. Trained survey teams collect higher quality data and provide a face to the organization they are representing to the community.
